Currimundi Early Learning Sunshine Coast FAQ’s
Am I eligible for childcare Sunshine Coast fee subsidies?
The amount that you will pay will depend on your eligibility to claim from the Australian Government the Child Care Benefit (CCB) or Child Care Subsidy (the Child Care Rebate (CCR) stopped on 1 July 2018). All payments will be means tested. You can find out what your percentage rate will be by getting in touch with the Family Assistance Office (follow the links to the Child Care Benefit section), call them on 13 61 50 or visit their office in person.
Do I need to supply meals for my child whilst in your care?
No. We have a fully qualified onsite chef to prepare delicious, nutritionally balanced meals for your child each day they spend at our early learning Sunshine Coast centre. This includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
If your child has a medically diagnosed food allergy or intolerance, we will work with you to ensure they receive meals that meet their dietary and nutritional needs. We also incorporate food education in our program, encouraging the children to participate in food prep and cooking classes.
What do I need to supply each day?
For daily child care Sunshine Coast provisions for your child, please bring along a labelled water bottle, cot sized pair of sheets, nappies if needed, and any family photos etc to help your child settle in!
What are your opening hours?
We have extended Currimundi daycare hours for your convenience – Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6:30pm.
Do you have a feeder program for surrounding primary schools?
Yes, we are feeder childcare Sunshine Coast centre for Talara Primary College. Through our Currimundi Kindergarten program, we aim to prepare your child as well as possible for an easy transition into primary education. We take regular excursions to the Talara Primary College to help familiarise the children with their future school.
What is a long day care centre?
Our long day care centre (LDCC) provides educational care the added bonus of extended hours and supplied meals. Like pre-schools, LDCCs are required by law to provide a structured learning program. We are also able to offer before and after school care for your school aged children (as well as school holiday care for kids of various ages).
How do I gain feedback about my child’s progress or voice concerns?
We encourage feedback and communication from families. We encourage you to call our early learning Sunshine Coast centre throughout the day or email us at any time that is convenient for you. We encourage open and honest communication between staff and families. Your concerns are important to us.
Can I have an extra day on a casual basis?
If space is available due to another child being absent, additional days may be booked through the Director on a casual basis. If a parent has booked an extra day and it is then not required, at least 24 hours notice is needed for cancellation.
